Barbizon Against Bullying Campaign: We’re Not Just Models, We’re Role Models

Nearly 50% of all kids have been bullied, teased or taunted at least once.  Slightly over 52% of kids hit out of anger and more suicide cases have occurred due to bullying.  Barbizon Modeling and Entertainment Center -Carolinas have taken a stand against these cruel actions and has launched the Barbizon Against Bullying Campaign.  This campaign has established a full scholarship to Barbizon of the Carolinas and a new lecture program.

Scholarship Opportunity

The Barbizon Against Bullying will give counselors and teachers an opportunity to change a student’s life by writing a nomination letter of one student that they believe has been highly victimized in a bully case.  The student will be rewarded with

·         A Full Scholarship to Barbizon Modeling and Entertainment Carolinas

·         Leadership  and professional  skills

·         Confidence and personal development

School Lecture Program

The Barbizon Against Bullying lecture was created by education counselors and is facilitated by trained motivational speakers.  This lecture cover topics listed below:

·         Educate students to identify the different cases of bullying

·         Advise How to prevent bullying in school

·         Promote Leadership and Self Confidence

·         Teach the importance of Individuality

Barbizon Against Bullying Bands

Barbizon students will also wear purple t-shirts and purple wrist bands at the International Model and Talent Association conference in Los Angeles, California to create awareness.  Purple wrist bands that say “Barbizon Against Bullying” will be sold and proceeds will go to the Stop Bullying Now program.

Barbizon Grad Brianne Chamberlain Interviewed

Barbizon Toronto grad Brianne Chamberlain has recently had her modeling successes chronicled in print!

MyKwartha.com, a website that keeps the Peterborough, Canada community interviewed Brianne because of her most recent modeling success with Complections and the 2010 Redken Cover Competition.

Barbizon Instructor Wins Metrolina Theatre Association Award

Barbizon instructor Terry Norman has officially won the coveted Metrolina Theatre Association Award!

In February, Mrs. Norman starred as Alberta "Pearl" Johnson in the production "Black Pearl Sings" with the Actor's Theater of Charlotte.  The play also won awards in the categories of Best Drama and Best Music Director.  

Mrs. Norman thanks everyone who has supported her in this victory.  "I want to say thanks to all of you who attended, prayed and encouraged me in some way. Thanks for the continuous love that you show and know for certain that each of you has a special place in my heart too!"

Barbizon Grad Tiffany Cochran for Emerging Designer Competition

Tiffany Cochran has been featured in a poster for the Emerging Designer Competition: East during Charleston Fashion Week!  The competition gives designers from all over the Eastern U.S. the opportunity to showcase at CFW March 22-26.

Tiffany modeled in CFW last year and made such a great impression that they've used her in publicity for this year's event.  Tiffany will also be modeling in CFW this year along with other ICE models.
If you are interested in participation in Charleston Fashion Week alongside Tiffany, casting submissions are due no later than October 15, 2010.
